Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism presents a special report entitled “Ka Pepe Diokno: The Martial Law Years”. This special report about the controversial life of the late Senator Jose W. Diokno during the Martial Law years.

The story recounted by his son Jose Manuel Diokno who is now Lawyer and founding Dean of De La Salle University’s College of Law. He still remembers how young he was when his father Senator Diokno was arrested in their house by armed military men.

He recalls how they went to visit his father while detained in a Camp in Nueva Ecija and finding out later that the late Senator Benigno Aquino Sr. was also detained by the Marcos government.

The government held them for about a month until they signed a pledging allegiance to the Marcos government. The whole experience has made a big impact on the young Manuel Diokno that made him realize why his father fought the Marcos government.
